Tour of Paynesville Police Launch VP09

If you frequent the Gippsland Lakes, you would have seen the very large and impressive Police Launch VP09 that is based out of Paynesville gracefully manoeuvre around the Gippsland Lakes keeping everyone on the water nice and safe.

So, what’s it like inside you ask? Well……. the members of the GLCBC can tell you that it is “absolutely awesome”.  Today on Saturday March 31st, members of the GLCBC were able to tour this fine vessel along with all the other interesting aspects of the Paynesville based Gippsland Water Police yards, boats and equipment.

The GLCBC would like to extend a huge thanks to Tony Wilson and Glenn Mackenzie who today allocated a few hours of their time to discuss all aspects in relation to the duties and daily activities of the Water Police, explaining their operations specific to maritime safety and our district. The discussion was extremely informative and was an eye opener presenting a new perspective of the magnitude of the geographical footprint that they service every day of the year.

In total, about 25 of our members arrived for the tour that was followed by a lite lunch at Alma’s restaurant in Paynesville.
