The schedule for the weekend was for boating activities and a camp out on the banks of the Tara River, however the weather gods had different plans and challenged our groups with a repetitive cycle of sunshine, torrential rain, wind, calm seas and back to sunshine again. Fortunately, we had ample shelter, and nice big bon fire to keep members nice and dry. The HPABC hosted a sausage sizzle BBQ lunch, followed by 2 raffles, one of which was a lovely hamper won by GLCBC member Neil Sach. Later into the evening, members gathered around the fire, had a BBQ dinner and socialized into the evening before retiring back to tents, swags and caravans. The following morning, members were greeted with BBQ bacon and egg sandwiches, before packing up camp and heading back home. Despite a vast contrast in unpredictable weather patterns for the day, it was still nice to head over to Port Albert and enjoy a weekend away, talk about boats and the local history. The GLCBC would like to extend our appreciation to the HPABC for their hospitality and invitation to join them for their small boat day, and we look forwards to participating in other events together in the future. « Previous | Next » Gippsland Lakes Classic Boat Club Inc
