GLCBC Covid 19 / Coronavirus social etiquette
As a social club we need to address and layout an acceptable and social framework that will allow our club to continue as best we can in our social activities, whilst the global Covid 19 Pandemic remains a problem.
Below are a few temporary changes that will need to take effect immediately to minimise and risk of further spreading this virus. The committee of the GLCBC requests that our members and guests work with the committee’s decisions at all times.
When greeting or addressing other members on outings, please avoid any direct contact such as the shaking of hands, hugs and kisses. As we are a boating club, attempting to keep a nautical theme we recommend a friendly “salute” as a gesture of greeting.
Snacks, platters and food.
We understand that a big part of our club is socialising and sharing platters. For the time being we would discourage presentation of any food items that are communal and selected / shared with bare hands. An example of this would be cheese platters and cabana.
Enclosed cabin environments.
Unless invited, please do not enter the internal cabin space of any boats, this space is the private space of the owners. Furthermore, we would recommend that social gatherings of people within close proximity such as internal cabin space be avoided.
Hospital grade hand sanitiser will be provided and available for use by our members, we request please that frequent application be applied. Also, please avoid sneezing or coughing within close proximity of other members, and always wash your hands.
Cancellation of some events.
The Committee of the GLCBC will continue to mark events into the upcoming event calendar, however these events will be assessed and subject to change or cancellation depending upon the relevant level of threat to the community at the planned timeframe.
Regretfully, as the popular luncheons are held indoors, a decision has been made to suspend luncheons until further notice.
In closing, the committee of the GLCBC would like to thank our members for their understanding, we will continue to conduct our social activities as best we can during this time.
