The 50th Marlay Point Overnight Race will be held on 10th & 11th March 2018

The Marlay Point race boasts a proud history and the 2018 race is destined to be a significant calendar event on the Gippsland Lakes as the 50th anniversary milestone of this iconic race draws closer.

Originally commencing in 1969 after a discussion amongst club members about the merits of a long distance night time race. The first race with only about twenty starters captured the imagination of the yachting fraternity throughout Australia and overseas. The halcyon days of the high rolling eighties saw the largest ever entry of an impressive 657 yachts in 1986 making it at that time arguably the largest yacht race in the world.
