GLCBC committee nominations 2018 – 2019 year.

As per our constitutional conditions, on the 27th of October 2018 the current elected committee of the GLCBC will stand down and vacate all committee rolls as part of the electoral process to make way and install a newly elected committee for the 2018-2019 year.

As such; the current GLCBC committee is calling for nominations of prospective committee members for the upcoming 2018 – 2019 year.

This invitation of committee nominations is extended to all financial members of the GLCBC. Prospective nominations may be the result of self nomination, or nomination of a 3rd person(s) that may possess some of the sought after attributes to enable a functional committee.

Examples of the desired attributes are:

A team player:
Working as part of a functional committee requires people that are able to work as part of a team, the ability to follow committee  process guidelines, demonstrate respect and understanding towards other committee and club members is paramount.

Communications:
The ability to communicate effectively with other committee and club members is vital.

Experience:
To ensure that all aspects of boating experience are catered for, the committee requires both novice and experienced boaties. The key is to accommodate for the needs and wants of all levels of experience and to ensure that regardless of experience there is a voice to be heard when discussing boating activities.

Age:
To ensure that issues such as mobility, endurance and medical complications are properly addressed at a committee level, we need to ensure that a cross representation of all age groups is catered for.

Creative thinkers:
As a GLCBC committee member; it’s not just about boats and the lakes. Planning a mixture of club outings requires a creative thought process to ensure a mixture of event types and to ensure that activity ideas do not become stale over time.

If you believe that you can meet some of the attribute criteria and would like to join the GLCBC committee for the 2018-2019 year, or would like to confidentially nominate another financial member, then please email
secretary@glcbc.org.au your nominations; please ensure that your email includes your full name.

Process.
All nominations will be processed in accordance with our constitution:

1)       Self nominated persons will be automatically placed as a candidate.
2)       Nominated persons from 3rd parties will be contacted via email or telephone and advised of their confidential nomination, if accepted the nominated person will be listed as a candidate.

Nominations will close 2 weeks (13th of October 2018) before the GLCBC AGM and committee elections.
